About Elaine

As an accomplished public speaker, I present in two different arenas. One is The Miracle of You series, which addresses the value of the individual. Those 3 programs  include fascinating true-to-life stories as well as hints to support ways to continue to live a life filled with quality happenings and happinesses.

The Art  Appreciation series are Power Point Programs and include the life of the artist, his/her art, and details about the  visuals. Fifteen of the lectures are also available in book form.

In addition, I have exhibited my art and photography and am the author of 19 books.

Early in my professional career I instructed art education, at that time I served as Chair of a high school Art Department. My instructional efforts in the classroom were recognized on a statewide level by being honored as one of Pennsylvania's top Art Educators of the year.

Later I supervised Art Education K-12 for a large school district for 12 years. During that tenure I chaired an annual, statewide, Art Educator Conference and coordinated Pennsylvania's Youth Art Month ... a nationwide program which promotes art in education.

I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. A Masters degree from Pennsylvania State University and Administration Certification from Temple University.

I am a past Executive Director of the Susquehanna Art Museum in Harrisburg, PA. The museum is a full service facility offering exhibitions in fine art and 3-dimensional design, as well as educational programs for all ages.

In 1989, along with a Russian counter-part, I co-founded the first, private, academic school in Moscow, Russia, USSR called Dom Stankevich. It still offers programs in English, history and social studies. In 1991, I co-founded a second school in Moscow, Russia .. SAAS "Marina"  ... which offers a full curriculum and provides early education through graduation opportunities.

I have formally lectured in the USA and abroad for the past 15 years to audiences ranging in size from 15 to 2000.

I recently sat on The Board of the Friends of the State Museum of Pennsylvania. Currently I actively serve as an Elder and Chair the Adult Education Committee for Market Square Presbyterian Church in harrisburg, PA.

I recently presented a show of 41 artworks at a gallery in New Cumberland, PA. My works in fine art and photography have been shown in both group and one person exhibitions.

Mountain trail in Washington State

A soft, delicate, late afternoon mist
silently approaches
to overpower the rugged outcroppings
of ages old mountains.

Sunset off the coast of Rio

The Great Creator
delivers a day's end drama
never to be repeated,
forever to be remembered.
